CHAPTER I

GENERAL PROVISIONS

Article 1. Object

The purpose of this Editorial Policy is to establish the principles, criteria and

general provisions applicable to:

I. The editorial nature of Líder Agropecuario.

II. The selection and admissibility of content.

III. The participation of the authors.

IV. The preliminary editorial review.

V. Peer evaluation.

VI. Editorial decision making.

VII. Editorial independence.

VIII. The presentation and publication of content.

IX. Updating and correcting publications.

X. The relationship of the Editorial Policy with the other policies, manuals and provisions

institutional of the magazine.

Article 2. Editorial nature

Líder Agropecuario is a magazine dedicated exclusively to scientific dissemination.

The purpose of the journal is not to publish original research articles in its format.

scientifically supported audiences that are not necessarily specialized.

Articles derived from original research, theses, projects may be published.

Article 3. Editorial mission

The editorial activity of Líder Agropecuario will have as its purpose:

II. Facilitate public understanding of science.

III. Link research, innovation, production and society.

IV. Strengthen scientific culture.

V. Promote the responsible use of knowledge in decision making.

VI. Make knowledge, experiences and developments relevant to the sector visible

agricultural, agri-food and rural.

VII. Promote interdisciplinary dialogue.

VIII. Promote new forms of scientific communication.

IX. Expand the social impact of knowledge.

Article 4. Editorial principles

The editorial processes of Líder Agropecuario will be governed by the principles of:

I. Rigor.

II. Veracity.

III. Clarity.

IV. Accessibility.

V. Integrity.

VI. Editorial independence.

VII. Impartiality.

VIII. Transparency.

IX. Traceability.

X. Human responsibility.

XI. Respect to the author.

XII. Respect for the rights of third parties.

XIII. Open access to knowledge.

XIV. Responsible innovation.

XV. Scientific plurality.

XVI. Social responsibility.

Article 5. Standards and editorial innovation

Líder Agropecuario will seek to develop its policies and processes taking as reference

nationally and internationally recognized good practices for publications

scientific and scientific dissemination.

Editorial, technological, narrative or multimedia innovation will be promoted whenever it is not

commit:

I. Scientific integrity.

II. Editorial independence.

III. Transparency.

IV. Traceability.

V. Objective evaluation.

VI. The responsibility of the participating people.

VII. The requirements reasonably necessary for the identification, recognition and

indexing of publications.

Innovation must complement compliance with recognized editorial standards

and not be used to replace them when they are necessary.

SCOPE AND NATURE OF THE CONTENTS

Article 6. Thematic scope

Líder Agropecuario will comprehensively address the agricultural and agri-food ecosystem

and rural.

Contents related, among others, to:

I. Agriculture.

II. Livestock.

III. Agribusiness.

IV. Biotechnology.

V. Agroecology.

VI. Sustainability.

VII. Natural resources.

VIII. Climate change.

IX. Water.

X. Soils.

XI. Health and safety.

XII. Economy and agribusiness.

XIII. Agri-food trade.

XIV. Marketing.

XV. Rural development.

XVI. Public policies.

XVII. Law and regulation.

XVIII. Education and extension.

XIX. Innovation.

XX. Artificial intelligence.

XXI. Information and communication technologies.

sufficiently explained with the agricultural, agri-food or rural sector.

Article 7. Basis of contents

All scientific dissemination content must have an identifiable basis and

reasonably verifiable.

This foundation may derive from:

I. Scientific literature.

II. Academic publications.

III. Institutional sources.

IV. Standards and technical documents.

V. Legislation and official sources.

VI. Verifiable data.

VII. Investigations.

VIII. Technical reports.

IX. Documented cases.

X. Sufficiently supported professional, technical or productive experience.

XI. Traditional knowledge duly identified and contextualized.

XII. Other legitimate sources of knowledge that allow verification of claims

main.

Scientific dissemination does not exempt from the obligation to adequately support the

relevant statements.

Article 8. Excluded content

Líder Agropecuario will not publish as scientific dissemination articles contents whose

main purpose is:

I. Commercially promote a product, service, company or brand.

II. Carry out covert advertising.

III. Favor particular commercial interests.

IV. Present advertorials as independent editorial content.

V. Use editorial review as a commercial endorsement mechanism.

VI. Disseminate only personal opinions without verifiable foundation.

VII. Publish opinion columns as if they were scientific dissemination.

The labor, professional, business or institutional participation of an author in

A private organization will not in itself be a reason for exclusion.

The manuscript may be considered when it constitutes an independent contribution of

scientific dissemination, conflicts of interest and funding sources are declared

III. Examples.

IV. Analogous.

V. Comparisons.

VI. Field experiences.

VII. Questions directed to the reader.

VIII. Narrative resources.

These resources should not be used to exaggerate, distort or simplify in any way.

CHAPTER III

AUTHORS AND PRESENTATION OF MANUSCRIPTS

Article 10. Open author

Líder Agropecuario maintains an open author principle.

Contributions may be submitted:

I. Research people.

II. Teachers.

III. Students.

IV. Technicians.

V. Producers.

VI. Professionals.

VII. Entrepreneurs.

VIII. Consultants.

IX. Public servants.

X. Members of social organizations.

XI. Independent specialists.

XII. People who have relevant knowledge or experience.

The acceptance of a manuscript will not depend on the academic degree, position, prestige,

institution of origin or career of the author.

The evaluation will be carried out on the quality, relevance, foundation, clarity, integrity and

editorial compliance of the content presented.

Article 11. Free format and orientation guides

Manuscripts may be submitted in free format.

Líder Agropecuario may develop models, templates or reference guides for different

types of popular science articles.

These tools will be indicative in nature and will indicate the minimum elements

recommended to achieve:

I. Rigor.

II. Clarity.

III. Organization.

IV. Foundation.

V. Understandability.

VI. Presentation quality.

Authors will not be obliged to write directly on a template

institutional when your manuscript sufficiently meets the editorial requirements.

Article 12. Extension

The length of the articles will be flexible and must be proportional to the complexity of the

topic and dissemination needs.

As a general reference, the main body may be located approximately between 1,500 and

3,000 words, without considering bibliographic references, tables, graphs, images,

illustrations, infographics or other complementary materials.

The extension will be indicative in nature and will not in itself constitute cause for acceptance or

rejection.

The corresponding editorial guides may establish specific ranges for

certain types of content.

Article 13. Languages

Líder Agropecuario will mainly receive manuscripts in:

I. Spanish.

II. English.

III. French.

IV. Portuguese.

Other languages may exceptionally be considered when the magazine has

sufficient capacity for review, evaluation and publication.

Spanish will be the main language of Líder Agropecuario's dissemination.

When an article is originally submitted and accepted in English, French or Portuguese,

The magazine may publish a version in Spanish together with the version in the language

original.

The translations may be provided by the authors, managed by the

magazine or carried out through specialized services.

Every translation must faithfully preserve the content, data, meaning, results,

references and conclusions of the original work.

Article 14. Summary and keywords

Scientific dissemination articles must incorporate:

I. A brief, clear and accessible summary.

II. Keywords sufficiently representative of the content.

The summary must maintain dissemination language and avoid unnecessarily reproducing

the technical format of a conventional academic abstract.

As a general rule, the abstract and keywords will be presented in:

I. Spanish.

II. English.

When the original manuscript is published in French or Portuguese, it may be incorporated

also in the original language.

Article 15. Sources and references

The articles must incorporate sufficient references to allow the identification and

verification of the main sources used.

Líder Agropecuario will have as its preferred institutional style APA, seventh edition, without

prejudice of admitting other recognized systems when the discipline, nature of the

specialized content or practice justifies it.

The style used must be maintained consistently.

When there is a DOI, institutional link, permanent URL, repository or other identifier

reliable source, its incorporation will be promoted.

The absence of digital identifiers will not prevent the use of legitimate sources that do not have

with them, such as printed books, historical archives, standards, official documents or sources

verifiable documents.

Article 16. Visual resources

Líder Agropecuario will promote the use of:

I. Photographs.

II. Tables.

III. Graphics.

IV. Diagrams.

V. Illustrations.

VI. Infographics.

VII. Maps.

VIII. Audiovisual resources.

IX. Other elements that facilitate understanding.

Its use will not be mandatory in all articles.

The resources must be relevant, legible, properly identified and have the

corresponding rights, permits, licenses or authorizations.

CHAPTER IV

ORIGINALITY, AUTHORSHIP AND TRANSPARENCY

Article 17. Originality and derivative works

Líder Agropecuario will accept scientific dissemination articles derived from knowledge

previously generated or published, including:

I. Scientific investigations.

II. Academic articles.

III. Thesis.

IV. Technical reports.

V. Projects.

VI. Studies.

VII. Working documents.

VIII. Other legitimately published works.

The new contribution must constitute a substantive transformation aimed at

scientific dissemination, adequately recognize the original sources and respect the

applicable rights.

New versions of previously disclosed content may also be considered.

I. Significant update.

II. Substantive expansion.

III. New approach.

IV. Incorporation of relevant information.

V. Sufficient transformation of the previous work.

The existence of the antecedent must be declared.

Substantial undeclared reproduction of one's own or others' works will not be admitted.

Article 18. Simultaneous presentation

A manuscript submitted to the editorial process of Líder Agropecuario will not be able to be found

simultaneously under evaluation, consideration, acceptance or publication in another journal or

medium when it is the same manuscript or a substantially equivalent version.

This restriction will not prevent:

I. That the original research has been previously published.

II. That there is a thesis or previous technical report.

III. That the content derives from a preprint.

IV. That there is a previous academic version and the new contribution is a true

adaptation of scientific dissemination.

V. That the manuscript constitutes a duly declared substantive update.

Article 19. Preprints, repositories and digital backgrounds

The prior existence of a research, thesis, technical document, preprint, working paper,

The journal may publish an abbreviated version in the article and, with the authorization

correspondingly, incorporate additional information in digital author profiles.

Article 22. Order and author's contribution

Author modifications during the editorial process must be justified and will count

with the knowledge and consent of the people involved.

After acceptance of the manuscript, changes in authorship will be

Article 24. Conflicts of interest, financing and acknowledgments

All articles must incorporate a declaration of conflicts of interest.

Financial, professional, institutional, commercial,

personal or other nature that could reasonably influence or appear to influence

the content.

When there are no conflicts of interest, a statement equivalent to:

“The authors declare that they have no conflicts of interest related to the

present work.”

Likewise, the financing received must be declared.

When there has been economic, material, technological, institutional or other support

nature, the corresponding sources must be identified and, when relevant,

their participation in the development of the work should be noted.

When there is no external financing, it may be expressly declared.

Articles may include acknowledgments to recognize scientific, technical,

professional, institutional, logistical, productive, community or other nature that

do not constitute author.

Acknowledgments may not be used as advertising or commercial promotion.

Article 25. Responsibility of the authors

The authors will be responsible for:

I. The veracity of the content.

II. The accuracy of the data.

III. The originality.

IV. The integrity.

V. The quality and sufficiency of the sources.

VI. The interpretations made.

VII. The reasonably necessary updating of the information.

VIII. The statements and recommendations made.

IX. The results and conclusions.

X. Adequate identification of sources.

XI. The declaration of conflicts of interest.

XII. The financing declaration.

XIII. The declaration of use of artificial intelligence when applicable.

XIV. Obtaining necessary permits, licenses, consents and authorizations.

XV. Respect for copyright, image, voice, privacy and other rights of third parties.

Editorial review, peer review, editing, acceptance or publication will not transfer to

Líder Agropecuario the intellectual, scientific, technical, professional or legal responsibility

that corresponds to the authors.

The foregoing will be understood without prejudice to any responsibilities that may arise.

Article 26. Public declaration of responsibility

The articles may incorporate a declaration in substantially equivalent terms

CHAPTER V

EDITORIAL REVIEW AND EVALUATION

Article 27. Preliminary editorial review

Every manuscript will undergo a preliminary editorial review before starting, when

appropriate, peer evaluation.

The review may consider:

I. Thematic relevance.

II. Nature as scientific dissemination.

III. Minimum structure.

IV. Clarity.

V. Existence of sufficient and verifiable sources.

VI. Compliance with institutional policies.

VII. Author statements.

VIII. Conflicts of interest.

IX. Financing.

X. Use of artificial intelligence when appropriate.

XI. Rights over images and materials.

XII. General integrity of the manuscript.

Preliminary review does not constitute peer evaluation nor does it guarantee the submission of the manuscript.

Article 28. Preliminary editorial rejection

The Editorial Management may determine that a manuscript does not continue to the editing process.

As a general rule, Líder Agropecuario will briefly communicate the main reasons for the

preliminary rejection.

This communication will not imply an obligation to prepare a specialized opinion, it will correct the

article, rewrite it, or perform an evaluation equivalent to peer review.

Article 29. Peer evaluation

All scientific dissemination articles must undergo peer evaluation before publication.

interviews, reviews, popular reports, audiovisual pieces or other formats

special—may be subjected to an editorial or specialized evaluation proportional to

III. Quality.

IV. Transparency.

V. Responsibility.

The specific procedures will be developed in the Evaluation Policy and in the

corresponding manuals.

Article 30. Review modality

The ordinary modality will be double-blind peer review, ensuring that people

Article 31. Anonymization

The journal will make reasonable efforts to preserve the anonymization of the manuscript.

The material impossibility of guaranteeing this will not invalidate the process when the

reasonable measures of independence, impartiality, confidentiality and management of

conflicts of interest.

Article 32. Number of reviewers

As a general rule, articles will be evaluated by two reviewers.

Exceptionally, an evaluation may be carried out with a reviewer when the

nature, specialization, scope or ethical characteristics of the manuscript justify it

enough:

When there are substantially contradictory opinions, a third party may be requested.

Article 33. Profile of reviewers

The reviewers must have demonstrable competence in the subject matter of the review.

II. Identify people with whom there is a conflict of interest.

III. Point out recent collaborations, direct competition or other circumstances that

could affect impartiality.

These suggestions will be indicative in nature.

The final decision on selection or exclusion will correspond to Líder Agropecuario.

Article 35. Confidentiality of the review

Unpublished manuscripts will be kept confidential.

The reviewers, members of the Editorial Management, Scientific Editorial Council and

II. Disclose it.

III. Reproduce it without authorization.

IV. Use data, ideas or results for your own benefit or that of third parties.

Article 38. Contradictory opinions

When there are substantial differences between the evaluations, the Director and Editor-in-Chief

Article 39. Final editorial decision

II. Editorial observations.

III. The responses and modifications of the authors.

IV. The recommendations of the Scientific Editorial Council when appropriate.

V. Compliance with institutional policies.

VI. The overall integrity of the process.

Peer review is an essential element of the decision, but is not a substitute for

final editorial responsibility.

Article 40. Reconsideration

Authors may request reconsideration of an editorial decision when

There are objective reasons linked to:

I. Procedural error.

II. Unadvertised conflict of interest.

III. Demonstrably incorrect interpretation of a relevant element.

IV. Objective circumstance that has reasonably affected the evaluation.

Simply disagreeing with the opinions or the decision will not be enough.

The request must be submitted in writing and be duly founded.

The Editorial Management may request an opinion from the Scientific Editorial Council or from another

specialized person.

The decision derived from the reconsideration will be final within the editorial process

ordinary.

Article 41. Deadlines

Líder Agropecuario will ensure that the preliminary review, peer evaluation, communication

with the authors and decision-makers are developed within reasonable deadlines and

transparent, considering the nature, specialization and complexity of each

contribution.

Specific times will be established in manuals, procedures, guides or

editorial communications and may be updated without the need to reform this

politics.

CHAPTER VI

EDITORIAL INDEPENDENCE

Article 42. Principle of independence

Decisions on:

I. Reception.

II. Assessment.

III. Designation of reviewers.

IV. Request for modifications.

V. Acceptance.

VI. Rejection.

VII. Publication.

VIII. Correction.

IX. Retraction.

will be taken independently of economic, commercial, institutional,

controversial, personal or of another nature unrelated to editorial criteria.

Article 43. Allies, contributions and support

The status of Open Science Ally or any other cooperative relationship with

I. Editorial priority.

II. Preference in evaluation.

III. Special treatment.

IV. Guarantee of acceptance.

V. Influence on reviewers.

VI. Influence on editorial decisions.

Making economic, material, technological, academic,

scientific, institutional or of any other nature will be independent of the process

editorial.

Likewise, the absence of contributions, support or ally status will not be able to

be used as an unfavorable element for the evaluation of a manuscript.

When a relationship with Líder Agropecuario can be reasonably perceived as

conflict of interest, must be declared and managed in accordance with the instruments

applicable institutions.

Article 44. Manuscripts of members of the magazine

The members of:

I. The Editorial Management.

II. The Scientific Editorial Council.

III. The Institutional Advisory Council.

IV. Other institutional bodies or teams.

They may submit manuscripts to Líder Agropecuario.

In such cases, reinforced safeguards must be established.

The author involved must deviate from:

I. The preliminary review.

II. The selection of reviewers.

III. The evaluation.

IV. The deliberations.

V. The final decision on the manuscript.

The file will be managed by a competent person who is not in conflict

of interest.

Artificial intelligence will not be able to assume the condition of:

I. Author.

All substantive use must be subject to the rules of transparency, traceability,

verification and responsibility established in the Ethics, Integrity and Use of AI Policy.

Article 49. Automated verification tools

Líder Agropecuario may use automated tools to support identifying:

I. Textual similarities.

II. Reference problems.

III. Inconsistencies.

IV. Possible image alterations.

V. Indicators related to artificial intelligence.

VI. Other elements relevant to editorial integrity.

The results of these tools will be auxiliary and indicative.

No automated result will in itself constitute definitive proof of:

I. Plagiarism.

II. Manufacturing.

III. Falsification.

IV. Handling.

V. Improper use of artificial intelligence.

VI. Any other breach of integrity.

Adverse decisions must be supported by human, contextual and

sufficiently founded.

CHAPTER VIII

PUBLICATION MODEL

Article 50. Annual continuous publication

Líder Agropecuario will use a continuous publication model organized in one volume

annual.

During each year an editorial volume will be integrated to which they will progressively be incorporated

the articles as they conclude their processes of:

I. Evaluation.

II. Acceptance.

III. Edition.

IV. Production.

V. Publication.

It will not be necessary to wait for the closing of an issue or issue to publish an article

accepted.

The journal will not establish in this Policy a mandatory minimum number of articles per year.

Quality, relevance and integrity will take priority over quantitative objectives of

publication.

Article 51. Thematic collections

Líder Agropecuario may develop thematic collections within the annual volume.

These collections may concentrate contributions related to topics considered

strategic, emerging or of special interest to society.

The articles included must meet the same requirements of:

Membership in a thematic collection will not generate a privileged procedure of

Article 52. Invited scientific coordinations

For certain thematic collections, Líder Agropecuario may designate people

specialists as guest scientific coordinators.

Their functions may include:

I. Propose topics.

II. Identify specialists.

III. Invite potential authors.

IV. Recommend reviewers.

V. Provide thematic guidance.

Coordinators will not have unilateral power to accept or reject

manuscripts nor will they substitute peer evaluation or the decision of the Editorial Management.

They will be subject to the same principles of independence, confidentiality, integrity and

conflict of interest.

Article 53. Editorial dates

Articles submitted for peer review will show, where applicable:

Article 54. Bibliographic identification

Every article must have a clear, sufficient and stable bibliographic identification that

substantially different arguments, results or conclusions.

When for technical, operational or editorial reasons it is not possible to provide said

proof, this will not prevent publication as long as Líder Agropecuario has carried out the

corresponding editorial controls.

CHAPTER IX

DYNAMICS OF THE EDITORIAL FILE

Article 56. Voluntary withdrawal of the manuscript

Authors may request in writing the withdrawal of a manuscript before its

publication.

When the evaluation has already begun, concluded or the article is accepted or

in production, the request must be documented in the editorial file.

Líder Agropecuario may request the reasons for the withdrawal for traceability, analysis and

continuous improvement, without unjustifiably preventing an author from removing a work that

has not yet been published.

Once the article is published, requests for correction, retraction or withdrawal will be governed

by the corresponding institutional politics.

Article 57. Resubmission of a rejected manuscript

A rejected manuscript may be submitted again when it has been subject to a

substantive reworking that addresses the causes that motivated the previous decision.

The new submission will be considered a new submission.

It will generate an independent file and must start the editorial process again
